There are 3 main areas of focused/detailed mechanical design required – i.e. Dust Extraction; Tar Handling; Ash / Char Handling.  A further area of responsibility will include bringing the site to Health & Safety Regulation Legal Standards in terms of gates at the top of ladders, hand-railing etc.  Further work in this area may follow once minimum legal requirement has been met to further enhance the safety on the site. All work to follow CDM regulation.The ideal candidate will have an all-round mechanical design knowledge, including specific experience on piping/process/P&ID sizing and specifying equipment such as rotary valves, screw conveyors, bellows and creating CAD drawings/details/material lists including all necessary equipment and pipe-work supporting brackets etc.  Process design is not required but process comprehension and an awareness of product flow, rates etc including some areas of pipe-work at high pressure and 600 degrees C . Liason with suppliers and customer is also an integral part of this contract.This will be an active, often ‘hands-on’ and extremely busy working environment – site work will need personal protective equipment (boots, goggles, hard-hat, high-viz jackets as minimum) - this can be provided as client will potentially require client identification when working on site.  An acute awareness / attention to risks and hazards when working on-site will be imperative.
